Description
Originally an ancient Latvian symbol and the name of its associated god which represented the morning star, the coming light of which heralded the end of darkness, i.e, the triumph of good over evil. Therefore, the charm was thought to help protect its owner from any evil or misfortune. It was often found around Europe and Britain, carved into the stone of a fireplace, as was this one, or by a door or window to prevent malevolent spirits entering - called an apotropaic mark. Here is a pewter reproduction of the stone-carved Auseklis mark.
Packaging: Presented in a branded Lychgate green velvet pouch with an attached descriptive kraft hang tag. Packaged in a 4-inch square poly bag, sealed with a round Lychgate sticker.
Designed and hand made in England in fine English pewter. This item is compliant to all jewelry regulations including EU REACH Directives and California Proposition 65.
