Description
The Wiccan witch goddess, symbolized by the Triple Moon, was in ancient Greek times known as Hecate, (or in Elizabethan English, Hecat), the goddess of magic and spells, of the moon and the night, and of graves and ghosts. She was identified with Heqet, the older Egyptian goddess of magic, medicine, fertility and childbirth and later adopted by the Romans as Diana the huntress, goddess of magic and protection from witchcraft, the night and the Moon. Latterly, the triple moon icon, (waxing , full and waining), has epitomised the principle Neopagan and Wiccan deity, the Triple Goddess, symbolizing her incarnation as the three phases of life, the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. Combined with the Medieval graffiti of a pentagram of protection incised upon the reverse, this amulet offers immunity from evil.
Packaging: Presented in a branded Lychgate green velvet pouch with an attached descriptive kraft hang tag. Packaged in a 4-inch square poly bag, sealed with a round Lychgate sticker.
