The Jewish menorah has 7 branches and Shabbat is the 7th day, and for Hindus there are 7 chakras. There are 7 metals in alchemy, with 7 stages of transformation leading to the Elixir of Life. The number 7 is therefore universally regarded a symbol of divine perfection and completeness, a magical and sacred number in nearly every esoteric and spiritual system, and so always associated with good luck and fortune.
