Seal of Solomon

From Babylonian times this hexagram, (a six-pointed star made of two overlapping triangles), has been a popular amulet in many divers cultures. In the ancient esoteric and mystical traditions, the Kabbalists used the hexagram as a protective amulet against evil spirits. This symbol was said to be on the seal engraved into King Solomon’s ring, which empowered him with command over the supernatural. Solomon was king of the Israelites from 885 BCE, the son of the great King David, killer of the biblical giant, Goliath in the Book of Samuel, and from the Middle Ages this star, known as the ‘Shield of David’ or ’Star of David’, had been adopted by the Jewish race as representing God the protector. This piece is fashioned in a traditional Hebrew style inspired by examples from museums around the world, and is set with natural carnelian red cabochons at each of its six points.

Packaging: Presented in a branded Lychgate green velvet pouch with an attached descriptive kraft hang tag. Packaged in a 4-inch square poly bag, sealed with a round Lychgate sticker.
